For Canadian citizenship you must: Provide proof that you know how to speak and write in 1 of Canada's official languages (either English or French) Be a Permanent Resident (PR) Have lived in Canada as a PR for at least 1,095 days out of 5 years.
Family Class immigrants are people sponsored to come to or remain in Canada by a relative who is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. We are specialized Spousal and Parent/Grandparent Sponsorships, etc.
Temporary Residence Visa i.e. visitor's visa is a document placed in your passport showing you have met the requirements to enter Canada as a temporary resident. We are specialized in Visitor's Visa, Super Visa, Renewals, and Visitor records.
Permanent Resident (PR) must live in Canada for at least 730 days in the last five years. If your card expires, you'll need to renew. You are still a PR even if your card expires. We specialize initial PR application, renewals and PR travel document.
As a RCIC-IRB, I can represent you before the Immigration Refugee Board of Canada: A court-like organization that decides refugee applications, conducts inadmissibility hearings, reviews detentions under the Immigration Act.
Humanitarian and compassionate grounds apply to people with exceptional cases. It is a case-by-case basis. Factors look at include: how settled the person is in Canada, general family ties to Canada, the best interests of any children involved etc.
If you have been detained by the CBSA it is important that you know how to proceed as quickly as possible since the first detention review will be held by the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) within “48 hours” or two business days.
