A new joint initiative between the Government of Yukon and Yukon College will help spread awareness among international students about immigration and job opportunities in the province.
Information sessions will be held twice a year for students and staff, with a focus on informing the student population about post-study work visas for which they might be eligible.
In addition to helping students with the transition to life after college, it may also be a benefit to Yukon’s economy, as the province is currently struggling with a low employment rate.
The college accepted 127 international students for the 2019 winter term, with most coming from India and others from countries like Japan, Spain, Thailand, and Korea.
