As per a new Immigration Levels Plan, Canada is welcoming nearly 1.5 million immigrants over the next three years.
The federal government recently released its highly anticipated Immigration Levels Plan 2024-2026.
As per the plan, Canada will welcome 485,000 permanent residents in 2024, 500,000 in 2025 and starting in 2026, the government plans on stabilizing permanent resident levels at 500,000, allowing time for successful integration, while continuing to strengthen Canada’s labour market. Let us take a closer look at the breakdown of who these new immigrants headed to Canada will be.
The total number of permanent residents will be divided into four categories of immigration class- family reunification, refugees and protected persons, humanitarian and others.
