The Student Direct Stream, an application system for international students applying to study in Canada, will now be available to prospective students in Pakistan.
The Stream requires students to provide more information up-front, such as language skills and financial information, so that their applications can be processed more quickly. The program began in China, India, Philippines, and Vietnam. Application processing times in these countries have been shortened to under three weeks.
Attracting more international students is the goal behind the expansion of the program; eventually, these students often become well-positioned to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
