Canada is offering a program to sponsor parents and grandparents to become permanent residents, with the next intake in 2024.

Starting May 21, 2024, potential sponsors who submitted an interest form in 2020 will be randomly invited to apply, with 35,700 invitations to be sent over approximately 2 weeks.

The goal is to accept up to 20,500 complete applications. The program is currently closed and is by invitation only, with processing times and fees varying. Potential sponsors can check if they are eligible and find out who they can sponsor and if they are eligible to come to Canada.

After submitting an interest form, potential sponsors will find out if they are invited to apply, and if approved, they can prepare for their family members' arrival in Canada.
