The Canadian government is offering a program to sponsor parents and grandparents to become permanent residents of Canada.

The 2024 intake for this program began on May 21, 2024, with randomly selected potential sponsors who had submitted an interest to sponsor form in 2020 being invited to apply. A total of 35,700 invitations were sent out over a period of approximately 2 weeks, with the goal of accepting up to 20,500 complete applications.

It is important to note that the deadline for submitting a complete application is 11:59 p.m. ET on August 2, 2024, and there are no exceptions to this deadline.

Therefore, interested sponsors must ensure that their applications are complete and submitted on time in order to be considered for the program.
