She served in various capacities on numerous not-for-profit boards, and was at the forefront of developing innovative programs and services for immigrants and refugees. Her agency received meritorious awards from various levels of government and foundations, including a Citation for Citizenship from the Government of Canada, and a commendation from then-Governor General of Canada, Adrienne Clarkson for her leadership in implementing the first Community Citizenship Ceremony for new Canadians in Peel Region. For her sterling services in the settlement sector, Ms. Seepersaud received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012. Ms. Seepersaud has studied, lived and worked in three continents. She has a deep understanding of the needs and priorities of newcomers to Canada.
