The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency is working with Cape Breton University in Nova Scotia to establish a program to match students with seasonal and part-time work in the province.
The program is designed to help students — and international students in particular — find work from July to October and give employers access to workers during a labour shortage.
It is funded by the ACOA and CBU, with ACOA contributing $350,000 and CBU providing the remaining $306,314. Partly designed to help retain international students, the project aligns with the government’s Atlantic Growth Strategy to foster economic growth in the area.
