Windows activation glitch after update
By: myconsultan on Jan 13, 2026 07:50 AM EST
In the morning, another system update arrived, and after rebooting, a message suddenly popped up saying that my copy of Windows was not activated. Before that, everything had been working steadily for over a year. Attempting to click “Troubleshoot” results in a server error. Does anyone know how to quickly restore the license status without reinstalling the entire Windows? Maybe there is some proven script or software that is currently relevant? Because it is simply impossible to work with this message on top of all the windows.

Same headache last week after this update! Seems like the latest patches have a nasty habit of breaking the activation link on some systems. Since Troubleshooting gives you a server error, it's probably a sync issue that won't fix itself. Honestly, don't waste your time waiting for a fix from support. Currently, the most reliable way to force a reactivation is to use kms activator I used the updated version, and it removed the watermark in about 30 seconds. Just run it, click the red button, and your system should immediately return to Activated status.
