Vitamin C Supplement for Healthy Gums?
By: Clarissa on Aug 26, 2025 05:18 AM EST
My dentist recommended that I start taking vitamin C supplements to help with gum inflammation and bleeding (not due to plaque or poor hygiene). Based on my internet research, vitamin C deficiency is very rare, especially in those who eat a lot of fruits and vegetables (like me). Is this common advice? Do I need supplements?

Inflammation and bleeding gums can occur not only due to vitamin C deficiency, so simply taking this vitamin does not always solve the problem. In such cases, it's useful to maintain oral health in a comprehensive manner: brushing teeth, caring for gums and additional means for microflora.

Dentist's advice on taking vitamin C for gum health is common, but with sufficient fruit and vegetable consumption, deficiency is really rare. In such cases, additional support can be useful in combination with other oral health products. For example, a supplement at https://getprodentim.com.au/ that works not only with individual vitamins, but also takes care of the oral microflora, strengthens teeth and gums, reduces the risk of inflammation and bleeding. It's easy to use, and it can be a good addition to regular care and proper nutrition.
