Strange Call From 082 Number

I had a missed call from an 082 number yesterday, but I don’t know anyone in South Africa. Could it be a normal mobile number or should I check it for scam reports before calling back?

An 082 number can be a South African mobile number, so the format itself doesn't automatically mean that the call is suspicious. Still, if you don't know anyone who would normally call you from South Africa, I'd be cautious about calling back immediately. Checking the number first may show network details or reports from other people who received calls from it. I would run the number through a reverse lookup here and use the results as a reference before responding.
