My gf from Japan was a student here before and stayed 3 months. She applied a job during our separation in which she is starting this April 1,2023. After 5 months she came back to see me for 3 months (July 20,2022 - Oct 23, 2022). The primary officer ask her questions about me, her job, length of stay, and her plans. She was then sent to secondary inspection and she was only asked for her return ticket. She is coming back here again for 2 weeks to celebrate our 1 year anniversary (Jan 20 - Feb 6). She’s currently working as a dispatcher at a cellphone company but she’ll be starting as a kindergarten teacher this April 1. For her trip this time, she’s bringing her acceptance letter from her job and a return ticket. Should we be concern about it?

Generally speaking, if your girlfriend has the proper documents and can demonstrate that she has strong ties to her home country and is visiting the US temporarily, she should be able to get a visa. However, if the primary officer has questions about her plans, it may be beneficial for you and your girlfriend to provide additional documentation to demonstrate her intent to leave the US at the end of her stay. This could include a letter from her employer, proof of employment, and/or bank statements.
