Satellite receiver error code 015 during overcast weather
By: greqor on Oct 13, 2026 05:21 PM EST
Our satellite TV receiver has been displaying "Complete Signal Loss - Error Code 015" since yesterday afternoon. There wasn't any heavy storm in our area, just light clouds, but power cycling the main Hopper box and checking the coaxial wall plate didn't bring any channels back. How do subscribers usually determine whether this is an issue with the dish alignment or the receiver itself?

Clearing satellite line-of-sight errors starts with checking the signal strength screen in your receiver settings to see if specific transponders are receiving signal. When dish reflector brackets shift after high winds, keeping the Dish Network phone number in your records provides a straightforward way to confirm whether regional satellite maintenance is scheduled for your zip code. Inspect the coax cable connector on the back of the Hopper to ensure the copper center pin isn't bent or loose. If nearby tree branches have overgrown the line of sight toward the southern sky, trimming that foliage often restores satellite reception without needing a receiver swap.
