Rebtel's Unexpected Charges
By: lleailea on Apr 17, 2025 10:14 AM EST
I subscribed to Rebtel for international calls, thinking it would be a cost-effective solution. However, I noticed unexpected charges on my account that I hadn't authorized. I reached out to customer service, but the responses were vague and unhelpful. Despite multiple attempts, I couldn't get a clear explanation for the charges. Has anyone else experienced unauthorized charges with Rebtel? How did you resolve the issue?

My dad uses Rebtel for calls to Nigeria, and I manage the billing. Out of nowhere, I saw two separate charges on the same day. I looked up issues like this on https://rebtel.pissedconsumer.com/review.html and noticed a few people dealing with weird billing duplicates. I emailed screenshots and dates to support, and after some back-and-forth, they fixed it and credited the account instead of issuing a refund. That balance covered the next cycle, so it worked out in the end — just took more energy than it should have.
