Open or Closed Car Transporter
By: greqor on Mar 26, 2025 03:54 AM EST
I need to move my car from one state to another, and I’m currently deciding between an open or closed car transporter. It’s clear that the closed option protects the car from the elements, dust, and possible damage, but its price is much higher. Some say that the open option is also safe, and most drivers choose it because of its affordable price. But are there any risks?

The closed option certainly offers added protection, especially if you are transporting an expensive or luxury vehicle, as it protects the vehicle from the elements, road debris, and potential scratches. However, the higher price is definitely something to consider.

When choosing between an open or closed car transporter, the open option is indeed cheaper, but there are some risks. Open transport exposes the car to weather, debris, and possible minor damage, though it’s generally safe due to effective transport management systems used by drivers to secure vehicles. If you value full protection and don’t mind the higher cost, a closed transporter is the better choice.
