Examples of Good Interior Design

By: Clarissa on Apr 27, 2026 08:35 AM EST

I wish it were easier to find examples of good interior design in affordable homes online. When I search for ideas, most of the photos I see show extravagant houses that must be incredibly expensive. Huge rooms, large windows everywhere, unique architecture, incredibly expensive flooring.

I have a one-bedroom apartment, and I'm very happy with it, but it doesn't look anything like what I see online. I'd like to see more examples of how to decorate it.
Even when I search for information on how to decorate a small apartment, I still come across incredibly pretentious options.

If you have a wall-sized window with an ocean view, you can have any furniture you want. But creating a stylish and cozy space in a typical one-room apartment is a real masterstroke. What I like about the approach of large platforms like 1StopBedrooms is that they offer ready-made collections that are truly scalable.
Instead of unique designer furniture that costs a fortune, it's better to choose modular sets for bedrooms and living rooms. Simple lines and calm colors are popular right now. Furniture in this style will make an apartment look expensive and neat, even if it's only 30 square meters.

In a limited space, every item must be justified. For example, a bed with a high-quality lifting mechanism replaces an entire closet. Yet, it remains a stylish design element rather than a bulky drawer.
A small apartment is the best exercise for developing a sense of taste, because there's no room for unnecessary items.
