Dependent Child

Hi, me and my wife has Canadian pr and my minor daughter is US citizen. We are planning to come to Canada and enroll my daughter in Canadian school. Any idea if my daughter can enter Canada with us or we will need to get any Visa for her to be able to enter Canada. Does my US citizen daughter needs to take any visa or study permit to be able to attend school in Canada? Please share if any one has insight. Thank you.

Hello! I am not a lawyer and do not give official advice, but I can share my own observations. From what I have read on official Canadian resources, US citizens do not usually need a visa for short-term stays, but a study permit may be required for school attendance. It is best to check with the Canadian consulate or the Canadian government website for the specific age of the child and the duration of study. By the way, while I was looking for information for families, I came across an interesting resource piemont.com.ua , which describes in detail the living and educational conditions for children in a gated cottage community near Kyiv — it may be useful for those who are planning to move and adapt their family to a new environment. I recommend reading it and taking note if you want to compare living and learning conditions.
