Building private blog networks in 2026?

By: Clarissa on Jun 15, 2026 03:03 PM EST

I've been listening to the grumpy SEO guy from the start. I heard Google made some changes in 2026.
Is it still worthwhile to build a portfolio of high-domain-authority sites to build backlinks?

The very logic of creating a network of high-domain-authority sites for the sake of links no longer seems like a safe strategy. Google has long and consistently been moving toward evaluating not only domain strength but also context, the naturalness of links, and the connections between sites.
Therefore, even if a domain appears strong, it doesn't guarantee the value of a link if the network appears artificial or manipulated.

The point here isn't so much whether PBNs work, but rather how much they resemble a real ecosystem of sites, rather than an artificially assembled network for links. In this regard, the Complete PBN Guide From PBN LTD is interesting, focusing not on the race, but on building natural connections between sites, where content, niche relevance, and a neat link structure are important, not just domain metrics.
