IRCC and IOM Partner to Support Applicants Affected by Conflict
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), has resumed biometric collection services in Sudan. This move supports individuals unable to leave the country due to ongoing conflict, enabling them to complete immigration requirements from within Sudan.
The biometric services—paused previously—will now be available by appointment only. IOM will contact eligible applicants under Canada’s family-based permanent residence or resettlement programs to schedule biometric appointments. When possible, IOM will coordinate medical exams at the same time.
Only those contacted directly by IOM and with confirmed appointments will be able to access these services. This update marks an important step in helping vulnerable applicants move forward with their immigration process during a time of crisis.
