Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) is Open until December 24th, Christmas Eve, 2022

December 24th, 2022, 11:59 pm EST is the deadline to submit online applications to the Parents and Grandparent Program (PGP) via the Permanent Residence Portal.

You must receive an invitation before you apply. Submitting an online application comprises two parts: Apply to sponsor your parent or grandparent and have your parents or grandparents apply for permanent residence.

The competition is fierce. This year, IRCC plans to accept only 15,000 grandparents and parents from among the 155,313 potential sponsor applications. 23,100 sponsors will receive invitations to apply in 2022.

To bring your biological parents or grandparents to Canada via the Parents and Grandparent Program (PGP) in the next round, you can submit an interest to sponsor form on the IRCC website.

You will need to meet income requirements and provide medical examinations, a police certificate, and biometrics. Those who have applied to sponsor a parent or grandparent but don’t know your invitation status can check to see if they received an invitation using this tool on the Canada.ca website.
