IRCC launches digital tracker to help permanent residence applicants

Canada is introducing an online application status tracker for four new categories of permanent residence application.

Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is continuing to make efforts towards improving Canada’s immigration system and providing better experience to people who are planning to move to the country.

IRCC has announced that they are expanding online status trackers which will allow applicants to monitor their permanent residence application after submission and stay informed of any updates. They can also keep a track on any actions/steps that may be required to keep their file moving. This will also help in providing clients the direct access to the same information they would get if they contacted IRCC.

Earlier, the digital application trackers were for immigration applications, starting with spouse, partner and dependent child sponsorship categories. Now, IRCC’s application tracker is also available for Express Entry applicants and their representatives. They can use the digital tracker for Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program and Provincial Nominee Program applications.
