IRCC invites 3,300 candidates through Express Entry draw for Federal Skilled workers

Canada held its latest express entry draw aimed for federal skilled workers with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score 489.

Canada had taken a major initiative towards giving international skilled workers the opportunity to move permanently to the country through its first-ever Express Entry draw exclusively for Federal Skilled Workers. The draw will also help Canadian employers who are looking forward to fill labour gaps.

On February 2, 2023, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 3,300 invitations to candidates through Express Entry. This time CRS score was 489, one point lower than the previous all program draw. The draw was only applicable to skilled workers with foreign work experience who want to immigrate to Canada permanently. This is for the first time since IRCC started conducting express entry draw in 2015.

Last year, IRCC announced that in 2023, Express Entry will be conducting targeted draws to strengthen Canada’s labour market.
