Canadian Election: Liberal Government Re-elected, Second Straight Minority Government

Canadians from across the country headed to the polls on September 20 to vote in Canada’s 44th federal election.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party were re-elected, winning a similar number of seats as the party won in 2019.

The Conservative Party of Canada will once again become the Official Opposition Party and party leader Erin O’Toole will resume his position as Leader of the Official Opposition.

The election writs are expected to be returned on October 11, 2021. This marks the swearing in of Members of Parliament.
