BCCA to Provide Pre-Arrival Services

The British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) is set to receive $3.4 million in funding to provide pre-arrival services for newcomers interested in construction work.

Pre-arrival services are offered through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to prospective immigrants around the world, in order to help them integrate into Canadian society as smoothly as possible. In addition to general information about settlement, pre-arrival services also offer industry-specific information on how to prepare for work.

The BCCA is one of several service providers receiving funding as part of IRCC’s renewed pre-arrival services program designed to help grow Canada’s middle class. Its construction-specific information will help newcomers looking for jobs in the construction industry meet the requirements of prospective employers.
